Brainspotting: Therapy for the Part of You That Talk Therapy Can't Reach

You already understand your patterns. This is for when understanding hasn't been enough to change them.

What is Brainspotting?

Your Body Knows Things Your Words Haven't Caught Up To

Brainspotting is a body-based trauma therapy that locates and processes activation through your visual field — where you're looking can correspond to where an emotional or trauma-related response is held in the brain and body. Instead of talking your way toward a solution, we let your nervous system do the processing directly.

I'm Brainspotting Level 1 trained, and I use it throughout my work — not as an occasional add-on, but as a core part of how I help people move past the point where insight alone stops working.

Why This Matters

Insight and Behavior Change Live in Different Places

You can know exactly why you freeze, avoid, or shut down — and still freeze, avoid, and shut down. Talk therapy is excellent at building that kind of understanding. It often can't reach the part of you actually driving the response. That's the gap Brainspotting is built to close: not by explaining the pattern to you again, but by processing what's underneath it.

How I Use It

Two Ways This Shows Up in My Work

General Trauma Work

Brainspotting is woven into ongoing therapy whenever talking about something isn't enough to shift it — shame patterns, freeze responses, stuck grief, and activation that talk therapy alone hasn't touched.

The Financial Therapy Intensive

Brainspotting is the core mechanism of the Financial Therapy Intensive — used in every session to work through the nervous-system root of money shame, avoidance, and underearning, alongside the Financial Therapy Association's framework for money scripts and identity.

Who This Is For

This Might Be a Fit If...

You already understand your trauma responses intellectually but still can't process them. You've done years of talk therapy and hit a point where more conversation doesn't seem to move things further.

You notice your body reacting — freezing, bracing, shutting down — before your mind has caught up to why. You're looking for something that works with your nervous system, not just your narrative.

What to Expect

What a Brainspotting Session Actually Looks Like

You don't need a detailed story or the "right" words to start. During our sessions, we identify a spot in your visual field connected to whatever you're working through, and I hold space while your nervous system processes it—with far less talking than you might expect from therapy. You stay in control the whole time, and we always close with grounding, so you leave regulated, not raw.

See It in Practice

Brainspotting Is at the Core of the Financial Therapy Intensive

If you're curious what this looks like applied to money shame, avoidance, and underearning specifically, the Intensive walks through exactly how.

Not sure this is the right fit?

A free consultation is the easiest way to find out — no pressure, just a conversation about what you're working through.
